The 90-day Chronological Bible reading plan

The 90-day Chronological Bible reading plan

Matthew 4:4 (KJV)

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.

The 90-day Chronological Bible reading plan, is an experience in the Word of God over 3 months to the end of the year. This could be a challenge, but I want to make it a habit in your lives.

As Christians we need to be daily on the Word of God the Bible, it is Gods communication to us and if we refuse to accept the Bible as God’s Word we are in trouble defying Him. In 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 Paul say “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”

In Matthew 4: 4 here we read “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Where Satan tempts Jesus.

It is interesting that the word WORD here in the Greek is Rhema which means which is said or spoken and implies that this is the words that God speaks, that which is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word The same Greek word is used in Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word G4487 of God:

This is exactly what Jesus did when Satan tried to tempt Him with turning stones in to bread because Jesus had fasted 40 days and 40 nights and was probably pretty starving. This was where Jesus used the sword of the Spirit, which is the word and quoted from Deuteronomy 8:3 but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Then Satan takes Jesus to the holy city and so on to continue to tempt Him but quotes scripture to defeat Satan.

So, to make this Bible reading beneficial to you here is some ideas or tips. If you are using the yearly Chronological plan, well done to you because today you will be starting to read through the New Testament.

  • ...To start of it is important to pray, get right with God and ask Him to speak to you. The lord prayer is best in Matthew 6:9-11.
  • ...To read your daily amount it is going to take you 45 minutes to an hour to read, which isn’t that long, but it is an amazing to be hearing God talk to you.
  • ...When doing this plan, it is mainly for reading and soaking (meditating), it’s too much to study it.
  • ...Have a pen and paper or wide margin Bible and underline or write down words or passages you don’t understand and go back after and study and learn more of what confused, or you didn’t understand.
  • ...After each day of reading underline or highlight the passage on the plan page, it helps motivate you and you know where you’re going next day.
  • ...If you use this system it will take you 3 months and you can read the Bible 4 times a year, which is great for retaining passages of scripture. I have dyslexia so repetition over short continuous patterns or reading helps me retain some passages of the Bible.
  • ...With using the Chronological plan, it going to give you confidence to find books of the Bible easier to find and open. There is nothing worse than flicking through pages of the Bible in church trying to find a book and you feel everyone is looking at you.
  • ...Don't be ashamed or afraid to spread your reading throughout the day.
  • ...When your done reading, pray again thanking God for what you have learnt and what He has spoken to you about.

I hope you will be blessed by this reading plan, I am sure you will find other reading plans that are on online with 90 days that take you from Genesis to Revelation and this is just a precious to use. I hope the pdf file will help and you can fold it in your Bible.
